In 2015, Vidya Sagar Singh Nishad of JDU was the winner in this seat beating Suresh Ray of BJP by a margin of 18816 votes which was 13.58% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Baidhnath Sahani of JDU won this seat defeating Ashok Singh of RJD by a margin of 6850 votes which was 6.53% of the total votes polled for the seat.
