In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Shamim Ahmad of RJD won in this constituency beating Shyam Bihari Prasad of JDU by a margin of 27791 votes which was 15.17% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Shamim Ahmad of RJD was the winner in this seat beating Sant Singh Kushwaha of BLSP by a margin of 19982 votes which was 12.23% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Shyam Bihari Prasad of JDU won this seat defeating Yasmin Sabir Ali of LJP by a margin of 7688 votes which was 6.46% of the total votes polled for the seat.
