In 2015, Jay Vardhan Yadav Alias Bachcha Yadav of RJD was the winner in this seat beating Ram Janm Sharma of BJP by a margin of 24453 votes which was 16.72% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Dr Usha Vidyarthi of BJP won this seat defeating Jai Vardhan Yadav of RJD by a margin of 10242 votes which was 8.84% of the total votes polled for the seat.
