This constituency covers an approximate area of 111 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Changanassery is: 9°27'33.1"N 76°32'52.4"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 70.3%, while it was 75.25% in 2016, and 72.56% in 2011.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, Adv Job Maichil of KCM won in this constituency beating V J Laly of KEC by a margin of 6059 votes which was 4.92% of the total votes cast. In 2016, C F Thomas of KCM was the winner in this seat beating Dr. K C Joseph of IND by a margin of 1849 votes which was 1.47% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, C.F Thomas of KCM won this seat defeating Dr.B.Ekbal of CPIM by a margin of 2554 votes which was 2.36% of the total votes polled for the seat.
