In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, K J Maxy of CPIM won in this constituency beating Tony Chammany of INC by a margin of 14079 votes which was 10.98% of the total votes cast. In 2016, K J Maxy of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Dominic Presentation of INC by a margin of 1086 votes which was 0.88% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Dominic Presentation of INC won this seat defeating M.C.Josephine of CPIM by a margin of 16503 votes which was 15.63% of the total votes polled for the seat.
