In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, V Sivankutty of CPIM won in this constituency beating Kummanam Rajasekharan of BJP by a margin of 3949 votes which was 2.72% of the total votes cast. In 2016, O.Rajagopal of BJP was the winner in this seat beating V.Sivankutty of CPIM by a margin of 8671 votes which was 6.07% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, V.Sivankutty of CPIM won this seat defeating O.Rajagopal of BJP by a margin of 6415 votes which was 5.51% of the total votes polled for the seat.
