In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, K Babu of INC won in this constituency beating Adv M Swaraj of CPIM by a margin of 992 votes which was 0.64% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Adv. M Swaraj of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating K Babu of INC by a margin of 4467 votes which was 2.89% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, K.Babu of INC won this seat defeating C.M.Dinesh Mani of CPIM by a margin of 15778 votes which was 12.05% of the total votes polled for the seat.
