This constituency covers an approximate area of 94 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Tirurangadi is: 11°01'09.1"N 75°55'16.7"E.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, K P A Majeed of IUML won in this constituency beating Niyas Pulikkalakath of IND by a margin of 9578 votes which was 6.51% of the total votes cast. In 2016, P.K Abdu Rabb of IUML was the winner in this seat beating Niyas Pulikkalakath of IND by a margin of 6043 votes which was 4.47% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, P.K.Abdu Rabb of MUL won this seat defeating Adv.K.K.Abdu Samad of CPI by a margin of 30208 votes which was 30.11% of the total votes polled for the seat.
