According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 74.46%, while it was 74.89% in 2016, and 72.49% in 2011.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, Abdul Hameed Master of IUML won in this constituency beating Prof A P Abdul Vahab of INL by a margin of 14116 votes which was 9.39% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Abdul Hameed Master of IUML was the winner in this seat beating Adv. O.K. Thangal of INL by a margin of 12610 votes which was 9.17% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Adv.K.N.A.Khader of MUL won this seat defeating K.V. Sankaranarayanan of IND by a margin of 18122 votes which was 15.99% of the total votes polled for the seat.
