This constituency covers an approximate area of 44 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Nedungadu is: 10°58'30.0"N 79°49'59.9"E .

In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, Chandira Priyanga of AINRC won in this constituency beating A Marimuthu of INC by a margin of 2214 votes which was 8.34% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Chandirapriyanga of AINRC was the winner in this seat beating A. Marimottou of INC by a margin of 1094 votes which was 4.29% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, M.Chandhrakasu of AINRC won this seat defeating A. Marimuthu of IND by a margin of 7490 votes which was 33.06% of the total votes polled for the seat.
