In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, Gollapalli Srinivas Ashok of IND won in this constituency beating N Rangasamy of AINRC by a margin of 655 votes which was 1.88% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Malladi Krishna Rao of INC was the winner in this seat beating Tirikoty Bairava Swamy of AINRC by a margin of 8754 votes which was 25.82% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Malladi Krishna Rao of INC won this seat defeating Manchala Satya Sai Kumar of AIADMK by a margin of 19118 votes which was 64.52% of the total votes polled for the seat.
