In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Venkateshwaran S P of PMK won in this constituency beating Subramani P of DMK by a margin of 26860 votes which was 12.46% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Subramani. P. of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Elangovan. P.D. of AIADMK by a margin of 9676 votes which was 4.66% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Baskar A of DMDK won this seat defeating Santhamoorthy P of PMK by a margin of 4043 votes which was 2.4% of the total votes polled for the seat.
