Victory margin
In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, I Paranthamen of DMK won in this constituency beating B John Pandian of AIADMK by a margin of 38768 votes which was 32.83% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Ravichandran K.S of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Parithi Ellamvazhuthi E of AIADMK by a margin of 10679 votes which was 8.85% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Nallathambi K of DMDK won this seat defeating Parithi Ellamvzuthi of DMK by a margin of 202 votes which was 0.18% of the total votes polled for the seat.
