According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 70.09%, while it was 71.21% in 2016, and 75.01% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Prakaash Y of DMK won in this constituency beating Jyothi S of AIADMK by a margin of 12367 votes which was 5.02% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Balakrishna Reddy P of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Gopinath K of INC by a margin of 22964 votes which was 10.67% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, K. Gopinath of INC won this seat defeating S. John Timothy of DMDK by a margin of 14152 votes which was 8.22% of the total votes polled for the seat.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Prakaash Y of DMK had a vote share of 48.04% in this seat. In the 2016 Assembly elections, Balakrishna Reddy P of AIADMK got a vote share of 41.59% , In the 2011 Assembly elections, K. Gopinath of INC got a vote share of 37.79% in Hosur.
