According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 77.06%, while it was 82.46% in 2016, and 84.21% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Ramachandran T of CPI won in this constituency beating Dr Nagesh Kumar C of BJP by a margin of 56226 votes which was 29.28% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Prakaash,Y. of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Ramachandran,T. of CPI by a margin of 6245 votes which was 3.3% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ramachandran. T. of CPI won this seat defeating Prakaash. Y. of DMK by a margin of 6435 votes which was 4.15% of the total votes polled for the seat.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Ramachandran T of CPI had a vote share of 62.82% in this seat. In the 2016 Assembly elections, Prakaash,Y. of DMK got a vote share of 39.31% , In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ramachandran. T. of CPI got a vote share of 47.9% in Thalli.
