In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, A Nallathambi of DMK won in this constituency beating T K Raja of PMK by a margin of 28240 votes which was 15.32% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Nallathambi. A of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Kumar.T.T of AIADMK by a margin of 7647 votes which was 4.3% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, K.G.Ramesh of AIADMK won this seat defeating S.Rajendran of DMK by a margin of 21792 votes which was 14.54% of the total votes polled for the seat.
