This constituency covers an approximate area of 657 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Uthiramerur is: 12°42'06.1"N 79°47'39.8"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 80.1%, while it was 83.07% in 2016, and 86.46% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Sundar K of DMK won in this constituency beating Somasundaram V of AIADMK by a margin of 1622 votes which was 0.77% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Sundar.K of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Ganesan.P of AIADMK by a margin of 12156 votes which was 6.12% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, P. Ganesan of AIADMK won this seat defeating Ponkumar of DMK by a margin of 13766 votes which was 8.2% of the total votes polled for the seat.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Sundar K of DMK had a vote share of 44.58% in this seat. In the 2016 Assembly elections, Sundar.K of DMK got a vote share of 43.02% , In the 2011 Assembly elections, P. Ganesan of AIADMK got a vote share of 51.75% in Uthiramerur.
