In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Pugazhenthi N of DMK won in this constituency beating Muthamilselvan R of AIADMK by a margin of 9573 votes which was 4.97% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Rathamani.K of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Velu R of AIADMK by a margin of 6912 votes which was 3.87% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ramamurthy.R of CPIM won this seat defeating Rathamani.K of DMK by a margin of 14897 votes which was 9.8% of the total votes polled for the seat.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Pugazhenthi N of DMK had a vote share of 48.69% in this seat. In the 2016 Assembly elections, Rathamani.K of DMK got a vote share of 35.69% , In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ramamurthy.R of CPIM got a vote share of 51.72% in Vikravandi.
