In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, A Vetriazhagan of DMK won in this constituency beating J C D Prabhakar of AIADMK by a margin of 37237 votes which was 26.1% of the total votes cast. In 2016, B. Ranganathan of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Thadi M.Raju of AIADMK by a margin of 9321 votes which was 6.21% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Prabhakar Jcd of AIADMK won this seat defeating Anbazhagan K of DMK by a margin of 10782 votes which was 8.24% of the total votes polled for the seat.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, A Vetriazhagan of DMK had a vote share of 53.37% in this seat. In the 2016 Assembly elections, B. Ranganathan of DMK got a vote share of 43.96% , In the 2011 Assembly elections, Prabhakar Jcd of AIADMK got a vote share of 52.44% in Villivakkam.
