In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Sukanta Kumar Paul of TMC won in this constituency beating Debtanu Bhattacharya of BJP by a margin of 26205 votes which was 12.63% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Asit Mitra of INC was the winner in this seat beating Tushar Kanti Sil of TMC by a margin of 4504 votes which was 2.38% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Asit Mitra of INC won this seat defeating Rabindranath Mitra of CPIM by a margin of 13719 votes which was 8.05% of the total votes polled for the seat.
