This constituency covers an approximate area of 160 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Chakdaha is: 23°03'50.0"N 88°33'30.6"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 85.23%, while it was 84.93% in 2016, and 90.2% in 2011.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Bankim Chandra Ghosh of BJP won in this constituency beating Subhankar Singha (Jishu) of TMC by a margin of 11680 votes which was 5.55% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Kar Ratna Ghosh of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Biswanath Gupta of CPIM by a margin of 23653 votes which was 12.46% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Naresh Chandra Chaki of TMC won this seat defeating Biswanath Gupta of CPIM by a margin of 14099 votes which was 8.13% of the total votes polled for the seat.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Bankim Chandra Ghosh of BJP had a vote share of 47.19% in this seat. In the 2016 Assembly elections, Kar Ratna Ghosh of TMC got a vote share of 49.63% , In the 2011 Assembly elections, Naresh Chandra Chaki of TMC got a vote share of 51.2% in Chakdaha.
