In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Abdur Razzak of TMC won in this constituency beating Saiful Islam Molla of CPIM by a margin of 79276 votes which was 36.1% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Abdur Razzak of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Alok Das of TMC by a margin of 25267 votes which was 13.19% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Abdur Razzak of CPIM won this seat defeating Idris Ali of TMC by a margin of 37861 votes which was 22.03% of the total votes polled for the seat.
