In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Manturam Pakhira of TMC won in this constituency beating Dipankar Jana of BJP by a margin of 25302 votes which was 11.58% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Manturam Pakhira of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Rafik Uddin Molla of INC by a margin of 24919 votes which was 12.78% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Manturam Pakhira of TMC won this seat defeating Milan Bhattacharyya of CPIM by a margin of 10503 votes which was 6.4% of the total votes polled for the seat.
