In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Ganesh Chandra Mondal of TMC won in this constituency beating Mintu Halder of BJP by a margin of 47177 votes which was 20.85% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Ram Sankar Halder of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Gopal Majhi of TMC by a margin of 11720 votes which was 5.92% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ramsankar Halder of CPIM won this seat defeating Joy Krishna Halder of SUCI by a margin of 4813 votes which was 2.88% of the total votes polled for the seat.
