In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Ali Mohammad of TMC won in this constituency beating Abu Hena of INC by a margin of 60707 votes which was 32.11% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Abu Hena of INC was the winner in this seat beating Chand Mohammad of TMC by a margin of 53475 votes which was 32.35% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Abu Hena of INC won this seat defeating Md Yean Ali of CPIM by a margin of 16184 votes which was 11.32% of the total votes polled for the seat.
