In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Rathin Ghosh of TMC won in this constituency beating Rajasree Rajbanshi of BJP by a margin of 48126 votes which was 21.17% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Rathin Ghosh of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Tapas Majumder of INC by a margin of 35804 votes which was 17.24% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Rathin Ghosh of TMC won this seat defeating Ranjit Chowdhury of AIFB by a margin of 34668 votes which was 19.86% of the total votes polled for the seat.
