In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Gopal Chandra Saha of BJP won in this constituency beating Ujjwal Kumar Chowdhury of TMC by a margin of 15456 votes which was 7.59% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Bhupendra Nath Halder of INC was the winner in this seat beating Dulal Sarkar (Babla) of TMC by a margin of 33309 votes which was 18.25% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Bhupendra Nath Halder (Arjun) of INC won this seat defeating Rahul Ranjan Das of CPIM by a margin of 10755 votes which was 7.35% of the total votes polled for the seat.
