In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Sahina Momtaz Khan of TMC won in this constituency beating Anupam Mandal of BJP by a margin of 74153 votes which was 36.88% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Abu Taher Khan of INC was the winner in this seat beating Masud Karim of TMC by a margin of 19262 votes which was 10.6% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Abu Taher Khan of INC won this seat defeating Jayanta Kumar Biswas of RSP by a margin of 13795 votes which was 8.81% of the total votes polled for the seat.
