In 2015, Kumar Sarvjeet of RJD was the winner in this seat beating Shyamdeo Paswan of BJP by a margin of 30473 votes which was 18.43% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Shyam Deo Paswan of BJP won this seat defeating Kumar Sarvjeet of LJP by a margin of 11213 votes which was 9.19% of the total votes polled for the seat.
