    In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Umakant Singh of BJP won in this constituency beating Abhishek Ranjan of INC by a margin of 13469 votes which was 7.66% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Prakash Rai of BJP was the winner in this seat beating N N Sahi of JDU by a margin of 464 votes which was 0.3% of the total votes polled in the constituency.
