In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Sudhanshu Shekhar of JDU won in this constituency beating Ram Naresh Pandey of CPI by a margin of 17593 votes which was 10.52% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Basant Kumar of BLSP was the winner in this seat beating Mohammad Shabbir of INC by a margin of 3892 votes which was 2.69% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Shaligram Yadav of JDU won this seat defeating Ram Naresh Pandey of CPI by a margin of 6659 votes which was 5.93% of the total votes polled for the seat.
