In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Jitan Ram Manjhi of HAMS won in this constituency beating Uday Narain Choudhary of RJD by a margin of 16034 votes which was 9.23% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Jitan Ram Manjhi of HAMS was the winner in this seat beating Uday Narain Choudhary of JDU by a margin of 29408 votes which was 19.58% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Uday Narain Choudhary of JDU won this seat defeating Raushan Kumar of RJD by a margin of 1211 votes which was 1.11% of the total votes polled for the seat.
