This constituency covers an approximate area of 300 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Eranad is: 11°15'31.0"N 76°06'19.8"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 77.68%, while it was 81.82% in 2016, and 80.69% in 2011.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, P K Basheer of IUML won in this constituency beating K T Abdurahiman of IND by a margin of 22546 votes which was 15.81% of the total votes cast. In 2016, P.K Basheer of IUML was the winner in this seat beating K.T.Abdurahiman of IND by a margin of 12893 votes which was 9.49% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, P.K.Basheer of MUL won this seat defeating Anver.P.V of IND by a margin of 11246 votes which was 9.83% of the total votes polled for the seat.
