According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 72.22%, while it was 76.66% in 2016, and 70.57% in 2011.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, Adv I B Satheesh of CPIM won in this constituency beating Malayinkeezhu Venugopal of INC by a margin of 23231 votes which was 16.03% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Adv. I.B. Satheesh of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating N.Shakthan of INC by a margin of 849 votes which was 0.59% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, N Sakthan of INC won this seat defeating Adv. M.V.Jayadali of IND by a margin of 12916 votes which was 11.01% of the total votes polled for the seat.
