According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 76.89%, while it was 80.53% in 2016, and 74.48% in 2011.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, Antony John of CPIM won in this constituency beating Shibu Thekkumpuram of KEC by a margin of 6605 votes which was 4.85% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Antony John of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Chev. T.U.Kuruvilla of KCM by a margin of 19282 votes which was 15.01% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Shev.T.U.Kuruvilla of KCM won this seat defeating Commander Skariah Thomas of IND by a margin of 12222 votes which was 11.38% of the total votes polled for the seat.
