According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 74.25%, while it was 77.57% in 2016, and 78.08% in 2011.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, Ahammad Devarkovil of INL won in this constituency beating Adv Noorbeena Rasheed of IUML by a margin of 12459 votes which was 10.52% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Dr. M.K.Muneer of IUML was the winner in this seat beating Prof.A. P. Abdul Vahab of INL by a margin of 6327 votes which was 5.47% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Dr. M.K. Muneer of MUL won this seat defeating C.P. Musafer Ahammed of CPIM by a margin of 1376 votes which was 1.33% of the total votes polled for the seat.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, Ahammad Devarkovil of INL had a vote share of 44.37% in this seat. In the 2016 Assembly elections, Dr. M.K.Muneer of IUML got a vote share of 43.13% , In the 2011 Assembly elections, Dr. M.K. Muneer of MUL got a vote share of 46.08% in Kozhikode South.
