Kuthuparamba Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Kannur district in the Malabar region of Kerala: Kuthuparamba Municipality and Kariyad, Kottayam –Malabar, Kunnothuparambu, Mokeri, Panoor, Pattiom, Peringalam and Thriprangottur Panchayats in Thalassery Taluk.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 242 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Kuthuparamba is: 11°47'42.0"N 75°38'40.6"E.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, K P Mohanan of LTJD won in this constituency beating Pottankandi Abdulla of IUML by a margin of 9541 votes which was 6.15% of the total votes cast. In 2016, K K Shailaja Teacher of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating K P Mohanan S/O P R Kurup of JDU by a margin of 12291 votes which was 8.37% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, K.P.Mohanan S/O P R Kurup of SJD won this seat defeating S A Puthiya Valappil of IND by a margin of 3303 votes which was 2.58% of the total votes polled for the seat.
