In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, E K Vijayan of CPI won in this constituency beating Adv K Praveen Kumar of INC by a margin of 4035 votes which was 2.3% of the total votes cast. In 2016, E. K. Vijayan of CPI was the winner in this seat beating Adv. Praveenkumar of INC by a margin of 4759 votes which was 2.92% of the total votes polled in the constituency.
