In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, P Nandakumar of CPIM won in this constituency beating Adv A M Rohith of INC by a margin of 17043 votes which was 11.76% of the total votes cast. In 2016, P. Sreeramakrishnan of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating P.T.Ajai Mohan of INC by a margin of 15640 votes which was 11.03% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, P.Sreeramakrishnan of CPIM won this seat defeating P.T.Ajay Mohan of INC by a margin of 4101 votes which was 3.38% of the total votes polled for the seat.
