In 2016, Abdul Hameed Master of IUML was the winner in this seat beating Adv. O.K. Thangal of INL by a margin of 12610 votes which was 9.17% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Adv.K.N.A.Khader of MUL won this seat defeating K.V. Sankaranarayanan of IND by a margin of 18122 votes which was 15.99% of the total votes polled for the seat.
