According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 87.9%, while it was 90.51% in 2016, and 92.88% in 2011.

In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, R Senthilkumar of DMK won in this constituency beating N Dhanavelou of AINRC by a margin of 211 votes which was 0.81% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Danavelou, N. of INC was the winner in this seat beating Thiagarajan, T. of AINRC by a margin of 2807 votes which was 11.37% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, T. Thiagarajan of AINRC won this seat defeating R. Radhakrishnan of INC by a margin of 2055 votes which was 8.94% of the total votes polled for the seat.
