According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 77.4%, while it was 81.52% in 2016, and 83.74% in 2011.

In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, P R N Thirumurugan of AINRC won in this constituency beating A V Subramanian of INC by a margin of 135 votes which was 0.48% of the total votes cast. In 2016, P.R.N. Thirumurugan of AINRC was the winner in this seat beating M.V.Omalingam of AIADMK by a margin of 3298 votes which was 12.4% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, P.R.N. Thirumurugan of INC won this seat defeating V. Omalingam of AIADMK by a margin of 3360 votes which was 15.39% of the total votes polled for the seat.
