According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 81.5%, while it was 84.85% in 2016, and 85.67% in 2011.

In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, M Nagathiyagarajan of DMK won in this constituency beating V M C S Manoharen of BJP by a margin of 5511 votes which was 21.34% of the total votes cast. In 2016, A.Geetha of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Vmc. Sivakumar of AIADMK by a margin of 6936 votes which was 27.84% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, V.M.C. Sivakkumar of IND won this seat defeating A. Geetha of DMK by a margin of 358 votes which was 1.59% of the total votes polled for the seat.
