This constituency covers an approximate area of 46 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Thirunallar is: 10°56'14.3"N 79°45'58.7"E .

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 83.89%, while it was 84.89% in 2016, and 86.36% in 2011.

In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, Pr Siva of IND won in this constituency beating S Rajasekaran of BJP by a margin of 1380 votes which was 5.17% of the total votes cast. In 2016, R. Kamalakkannan of INC was the winner in this seat beating P. R. Siva @ Sivasakthi of AINRC by a margin of 2875 votes which was 11.23% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, P.R. Siva of AINRC won this seat defeating R. Kamalakannan of INC by a margin of 840 votes which was 3.64% of the total votes polled for the seat.

In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, Pr Siva of IND had a vote share of 36.69% in this seat. In the 2016 Assembly elections, R. Kamalakkannan of INC got a vote share of 51.3% , In the 2011 Assembly elections, P.R. Siva of AINRC got a vote share of 50.77% in Thirunallar.
