In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Vilwanathan A C of DMK won in this constituency beating Nazar Mohamed K of AIADMK by a margin of 20232 votes which was 11.47% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Balasubramani,R.(E) of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Nazeer Ahmed,V.R. of MAMAK by a margin of 28006 votes which was 17.39% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Aslam Basha.A of MAMAK won this seat defeating Vijay Elanchezian.J of INC by a margin of 5091 votes which was 3.71% of the total votes polled for the seat.
