In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Ruby R Manoharan of INC won in this constituency beating Ganesaraja of AIADMK by a margin of 16486 votes which was 8.63% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Vasanthakumar. H of INC was the winner in this seat beating Vijayakumar. M of AIADMK by a margin of 17315 votes which was 10.04% of the total votes polled in the constituency.
