In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, M Appavu of DMK won in this constituency beating I S Inbadurai of AIADMK by a margin of 5925 votes which was 3.18% of the total votes cast. In 2016, I. S. Inbadurai of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating M. Appavu of DMK by a margin of 49 votes which was 0.03% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, S.Michael Rayappan of DMDK won this seat defeating P.Veldurai, of INC by a margin of 21475 votes which was 15.48% of the total votes polled for the seat.
