In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Murthy R Idream of DMK won in this constituency beating Jayakumar D of AIADMK by a margin of 27779 votes which was 23.09% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Jayakumar D of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Manohar R of INC by a margin of 8031 votes which was 6.58% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Jayakumar. D of AIADMK won this seat defeating Manohar. R of INC by a margin of 21372 votes which was 19% of the total votes polled for the seat.
