In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, A M Munirathinam of INC won in this constituency beating A M Krishnan of PMK by a margin of 26698 votes which was 11.98% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Parthiban.N.G of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Munirathinam.A.M of INC by a margin of 9732 votes which was 4.61% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, P.R.Manokar of DMDK won this seat defeating A.M.Muniratinam of IND by a margin of 9038 votes which was 5.04% of the total votes polled for the seat.
