In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Karunanithi J of DMK won in this constituency beating Sathiyanaarayanan B of AIADMK by a margin of 137 votes which was 0.1% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Sathyanarayanan.B of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Dr.N.S.Kanimozhi of DMK by a margin of 3155 votes which was 2.22% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Kalairajan V P of AIADMK won this seat defeating Chellakumar A of INC by a margin of 32462 votes which was 25.02% of the total votes polled for the seat.
